The Purpose

During challenging times, research suggests that teenagers feel better when they can turn their attention to supporting others in a meaningful way. Studies have found teenagers who provided the highest levels of social support to those impacted by a tragedy or disaster were the ones who went on to express the most confidence about their ability to face challenges in their own lives.

The Program

Chicago Youth Service Corps is a year-round program where youth ages 16 to 24 earn money while supporting the City. The program offers opportunities for community service, project-based learning, and leadership development. Chicago Youth Service Corps celebrates and welcomes diverse backgrounds and encourages you to bring your experience, background, and traditions to your service.

As a Corps Member, you will:

• Grow personally and professionally, and
• Meet a diverse group of people who share your passion for service.
